FRANCE

BONJOUR, MON AMIE!

France calls to mind visions of quaint street corner cafes in Paris, stretches lavender in the Provence countryside and the ritzy glamour of the French Riviera. There is so much to see and often so little time to do it.

Our Tastemakers keep a pulse on where to go, what to see and where to dine in the ever-changing Paris and have the best intel on where the French locals go for R&R as well as exploration through France.

Connect with our team of France Tastemakers to do the country the bonne way.

  • EXPERTISE | Paris + Food & Wine

PROFILE | Meet Jaime: history buff, foodie with a sweet tooth, and travel & fitness enthusiast.

Originally US-based out of Maryland, Texas, and New York, Jaime's finance career brought her to Paris in 2022. Having grown up speaking French and studying French at Southern Methodist University, Jaime has an innate love of the French language, Parisian architecture and food culture. It was only natural that she found herself living in her favorite city in the world! She spends her time discovering hidden and local gems in Paris and traveling often within France.

Favorite local restaurant in Paris? It's so hard to choose just one...the food scene is incredible here! You can't go wrong at Le Bon Georges in the 9th arrondissement, I take all my visitors to this traditional bistro serving seasonal French cuisine. The food is high-quality and always 10/10 (especially the meat selection) and the wine list is one of the best in Paris so it attract tourists, locals, and winemakers alike. But this place has my heart because the staff is incredibly friendly and makes you feel like you are at home. Pro tip: Go for lunch! They have a great "formule" where you can try 2-3 courses for a lower price.

Favorite place to visit outside of Paris? Aix-en-Provence in the South of France is a perfect year-round travel destination and you can take a 3-hour train direct from Paris. Aix can be done well in just a weekend or spend a week+ discovering Aix & its neighboring cities (Marseille, Cassis, quaint Luberon villages, Avignon, hiking the Calanques - the list goes on).

The iconic time to visit Aix is late spring-early summer when the lavender is blooming but don't rule out off-season when the crowds are smaller. My highlights are the Italian-inspired cuisine, outdoor markets and Cezanne's atelier!

France Testimonials

  • “Jaime had read through my submitted questionnaire and came prepared during our meeting with specific insights. She was a delight to speak to (plus we have lots in common -- TEXAS -- being one of them) and we could have talked for hours. Jaime was extremely knowledgeable about Paris. Her Paris knowledge was so vast and I appreciated the tips on places to visit that are way less tourist driven. Overall, the experience was seamless and insightful.”

  • “I cannot even put into words how wonderful the experience working with you and Jaime was. Even though it was last minute, you pulled together the most incredible recommendations for our trip - things we never would have found otherwise. Not only that, but we had lunch with Jaime while in Paris where she gave us more insider tips and was a resource to us throughout our trip when we needed restaurant recommendations or had questions about local transportation. I wish Citrine existed a decade ago when I was sifting through blogs to find the hidden gems in the 35 countries I visited. :)”
