MEXICO

VAMOS, CHICOS!

There is so much to love about Mexico. It’s expansive, accessible and in The CC’s humble opinion, totally underrated.

We find ourselves daydreaming about the exquisite colonial architecture of San Miguel de Allende, the foodie scene in Oaxaca and the beachy stretches of La Paz and that’s only a fraction of what Mexico has to offer.

Do yourself a favor and book time for a consult or get a curated itinerary from one of our locally-based Tastemakers who can help you discover the hidden corners of Mexico.

Alicia is a writer specializing in responsible travel and sustainable fashion. In her free time she loves to go hiking, enjoy new restaurants and natural wine bars, explore galleries and go dancing.

Alicia is passionate about showing travelers the diverse range of things to do and see throughout Mexico. She’s lived throughout Southern and Central Mexico and is always hopping on a plane or bus to visit a new town. Alicia’s itineraries focus on connecting travelers to the heart and culture of a place, perfectly blending can’t miss activities with local hot spots.

What neighborhood should you stay in in Mexico City? Condesa and Roma are the best neighborhoods to stay in for tourists. These neighborhoods are highly walkable and filled with some of the top restaurants, galleries, night life, and parks in the city. While I highly recommend staying there, definitely take some time to explore some of the other beautiful neighborhoods in this city to get a better idea of its size and diverse culture.

What’s one thing you can’t miss in Mexico? The cenotes! Few natural wonders are as beautiful as the cenotes in Mexico. Cenotes are natural freshwater sinkholes found above and below ground. You can visit and swim in a number of these stunning, bright blue caves throughout the Yucatan Peninsula.

Cesar Carpizio Mexico Travel Consultant

  • EXPERTISE | Mexico City + Outdoor Adventure

PROFILE | Cesar was born and raised in Mexico City but lived all over the country while playing soccer. He is a huge sports fan, an outdoor explorer, a dog dad and a food lover. He currently leads tours in Xochimilco (also known as Mexico City's floating gardens, a place you should go!) and is studying to be a software engineer.

He describes Mexico City as the epicenter of culture, food, partying and lots of mariachi and is passionate about helping you get to know Mexico in a different, locals-only way.

Where is Xochimilco? Xochimilco is located south of Mexico City and is named for being "the land of flowers". It is UNESCO site that has an extensive 114-mile canal that surrounds the city and is, for me, one of the best ways to share my culture.

Which museum should be on my list in Mexico City? You cannot miss the anthropology museum located in the Polanco neighborhood of Mexico City. You will get to know the full history of Mexico through the Mayan cultures.
