SCOTLAND

EXPLORING THIS BONNIE COUNTRY

Beyond the bagpipes and kilts of Scotland lie windswept glens, hidden coves and charming villages. Even seasoned travelers become awestruck at Scotland’s untamed, wild beauty and rugged landscapes.

Adventurers can trace the North West Coastal Trail, where the Atlantic Ocean crashes against dramatic cliffs, or hike the ancient forest trails of Cairngorms National Park.

Those after luxury can settle in at secluded lodges, partake in Edinburgh’s emerging restaurant scene or follow a whiskey trail of distilleries and tasting rooms across Scotland.

Let our team of Local Tastemakers help you discover all that Scotland has to offer outside of the typical tourist experience.

  • EXPERTISE | Edinburgh + Fine Dining

PROFILE | Aurelia grew up in Scotland before her career as a fashion buyer led her to New York where she spent 10 years. After earning her MBA, she transitioned to the digital commerce space and made the move back to beautiful Edinburgh with her family. She has extensive travel experience across Europe, Asia and North America and now back in Scotland, loves visiting new restaurants or curling up with a good book on a rainy day.

What are your top Edinburgh restaurants? Edinburgh has had a food renaissance over the past few years and there are superb dining options in both the Old and New Town. The Witchery is one of Edinburgh's most iconic eateries and is steps from Edinburgh Castle. The Little Chartroom restaurant is a fantastic gem in the Leith area of Edinburgh that has been garnering rave reviews and should be on your radar as well.

Favorite place to visit outside Edinburgh? The Isle of Skye is my top recommendation for anyone looking to travel out of the capital. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking and whether you’re traveling by train or car, you can enjoy incredible pit stops and landscapes unlike anywhere else in the world.
