PROFILE | Originally from the north of Scotland, Rebecca is a seasoned traveler that spent time in Europe and South East Asia before relocating to Australia in 2019. She and her partner realized their dream of moving to Thailand in 2022 and are there to stay.
Rebecca is based on the big, beautiful island of Phuket and her local knowledge of Thailand extends near and far as Rebecca is obsessed with seeing and doing it all, from the ultra-luxury to the authentic and traditional (and everything in between).
When Rebecca isn’t globetrotting, she is an artist and business coach. She loves immersing herself in the local arts and music scene, as well as exploring restaurants and cuisine as she believes one of the best ways to connect with any culture is through food.
What makes Thailand so special? It’s really the people. It’s called “The Land of Smiles” for very good reason; in all my travels, I have never been so warmly welcomed by locals as I have been in Thailand. It’s an extremely friendly country and even if you can’t speak their language, locals will always try to find a way to communicate and have a good sense of humor about it along the way! The breathtaking beauty of the country and incredible food choices also make Thailand incredibly special.
What is your favorite area in Phuket? I love Phuket Old Town - the rich history, the jaw-dropping Sino-Portuguese architecture, the cool restaurants, independently-owned bars and cafes and charming boutiques make this area a spectacular place to visit
